07/28/2020
Dear Staff, Students, and Parents/Guardians: The Washington Community School Board will meet at a work session on Thursday, July 30th. The only topic at this work session will be the presentation of the Return to Learn (RtL) Plan. At this time, we plan to attend school in the face-to-face mode with mitigation practices set in place. The document will be released to the public for their viewing on Friday, July 31st. We realize that everyone has different opinions on what needs to transpire for our students. If you have questions or concerns about the plan after you have read it in its entirety, please email me at wstone@washington.k12.ia.us or any one of the building administrators. The WCSD Board will meet again next week no earlier than August 5th to approve the plan and move forward. This remains a very fluid situation, and things may change at any time. We are ready with a hybrid model and a virtual model if our students need it. Both of these models are outlined in the plan. Thank you for your understanding and patience on this matter as we continue to move forward.

Prom/Graduation Update
06/08/2020
Good afternoon WHS students and parents, We at WHS want you to know our first and foremost concern is student safety. ALL social distancing guidelines must be followed. Masks are not required but recommended. Since the Department of Education announced that schools in Iowa are not able to hold prom during June, and following collaboration with area high schools, we have decided to cancel the Prom Dance and After Prom for this year and turn our focus to what can be done for senior weekend. While this was an extremely difficult decision, we feel it is necessary to move forward with seniors and provide some kind of recognition for all their years of hard work and dedication to WHS.
