Notice is hereby given to the qualified electors of the Washington Community School District in the Counties of Washington and Jefferson, State of Iowa, that a special school election will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 for the public measures shown on the ballot published herewith.

                                                                                                                                    

The polls will be open from 7:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M., at the following precincts and polling places: 

 

Residents of the BRIGHTON PRECINCT will include those persons residing in said school district in the City of Brighton, Brighton Township, Clay Township, Dutch Creek Township, and Marion Township in Washington County, and in Penn Township and Walnut Township in Jefferson County, and will vote at the Brighton Community Building, 100 E. Washington St., Brighton.

 

Residents of the WASHINGTON PRECINCT will include those persons residing in said school district in the City of Washington, Cedar Township, Franklin Township, Highland Township, Jackson Township, Oregon Township and Washington Township in Washington County, and will vote at the Courthouse, 222 W. Main St., Washington.

 

Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered–such as voters registering to vote on election day–and voters changing precincts must also provide proof of residence. A voter who is unable to provide an approved form of identification (or prove residence if required) may 1) have the voter’s identity/residence attested to by another registered voter in the precinct, 2) prove identity and residence using Election Day Registration documents, or 3) cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residence at the county auditor’s office by noon on Monday, March 9, 2020. Election Day Registrant attesters must provide an approved form of identification.
