Indoor Hitting Facility

Indoor Hitting Facility

The Washington County Riverboat Foundation awarded the Washington Community School District a $78,000 grant for an Indoor Hitting Facility during the spring of 2009.

This facility allows the High School Baseball and Softball teams a place to work out in the winter months and during weather that prohibits them from practicing outdoors during the season. The facility has 3 batting cages with 2 pitching machines and an open area for hitting stations. The facility also includes indoor restrooms, which will be used during games and practices.

The Washington Area Softball & Baseball youth teams will also utilize the Indoor Hitting Facility. Having a facility where the younger kids can work on their skills year round only improves their confidence and the high school programs in the future. This facility was made possible with a $78,835 grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation.
