New Backup System Installed

Washington Community Schools recently installed a new disk based backup system for the District's electronic information. This project was made possible with half of the funding coming from a $6000 Washington County Riverboat Foundation grant.

Disk Back Up

Upgrading our existing backup system from magnetic tapes to a hard disk based solution allows a faster, more reliable off-site backup of the District's electronic information. This includes all staff and student data, email, and server systems. This disk-based system utilizes our existing fiber optic network and is located at one of our schools, offsite from our main data center. This will allow more frequent off-site backups, and enhance our ability to recover data if a situation would occur.
