State Representative Dave Heaton visited Mrs. Uitermark's preschool classroom as well as Miss Bangs' kindergarten classroom on January 28th. The preschool class had some interesting questions for their guest. The following are just a few-

  • What is your favorite color?
  • Do you have a bed?
  • Are you a bus driver?
  • Do you know how to drive?
  • What songs do you listen to?
  • What did you eat for lunch?
  • Do you know how to roller skate?

Family Fun Night was held at Stewart on Jan. 27th. We had fun with counting and graphing activities, math games and exercise counts. Even parents got involved with jump ropes and hula hoops!

5:00 – 6:30 pm

Come count your way through exercising, add data, sort the cereal, and play math games!

Each child attending will receive a coupon for a free ticket to the Stewart Carnival in April! Plus, there will be a drawing for ten lucky winners who complete the survey. Two families will also receive a gift card to Hy-Vee!

The Kids on the Block at Stewart PDF Print E-mail

The Kids on the Block puppet show was presented to 3rd graders at Stewart Elementary on December 17th by the Grant Wood Area Education Agency. The "Kids" are a group of near-life-sized puppets that help students with and without disabilities understand and appreciate each other. Students had the opportunity to ask questions about disabilities and gain an awareness of how a disability can impact a person's everyday life.
