USDA gives a "thumbs up" to Recycling Sorter designed by Mr. Richard PDF Print E-mail

Last spring the USDA gave all Physics Olympics students a challenge to design a recycling sorter to sort water bottles, pop bottles, soup cans, cardboard and paper. No team in Iowa could master all parts of the project, including Washington students with Mr. Richard at the helm. This summer a USDA representative contracted Mr. Jeffrey Richard (Washington High School Physics Instructor) to design the sorter and he was successful! On Wed, Sept 21; a USDA Representative visited Mr. Richard here at the high school to pick up the recycling sorter he designed. It will be used as an educational kit for other classrooms around the state to learn from. We are proud to have Mr. Richard as one of our teachers right here at Washington High School!
