Randy Schrader, was named COACH OF THE YEAR with All GTNS (Golden Triangle News Service) for District Football. The Washington Demons ended the season STRONG and made it to first round play-offs. It was an exciting season! Congratulations to Mr. Schrader, Coach of the Year!

Senior Citizens Parking Spots PDF Print E-mail

We are pleased to announce we've recently added 6 designated SENIOR CITIZEN PARKING SPOTS located at the quad doors right outside the High School gym (next to the handicapped parking spots). The 6 spots are designated with white signs saying SENIOR PARKING ONLY. The parking spots have been well received by the community! Senior Citizens may purchase a DISCOUNT ACTIVITY PASS at the High School office for $35 which is good for the entire year; or may purchase individual passes for $5 at the gate.

The Washington Athletic Boosters are sponsoring a Washington Demons WINTER SPORTS APPAREL SALE. Attached is the order form to place your order; as well additional order forms are available in the HS office. December 1st is the deadline to turn order forms in.

There are only 6 months left until the students in the Class of 2012 graduate and move on to their next adventures! For those parents of students going on to Post Secondary Education, the following Suggestions for Parents were gathered from Post Secondary counselors and advisors.


• Contact the college Counseling Department, Advising Center, Campus Security if you have a concern about your child.

• Help your child to understand how his/her health insurance works

• Give your child a duplicate health/dental insurance card to keep with him/her

• Give food, not money for food

• Encourage your college student to get involved in an extra curricular club or activity at college

• Consider renter’s insurance if applicable

Doors will open at 1:30 pm.

Special appearance by Mrs. Iowa, Elaine Reinholz, Desert Storm veteran and Joe Reinholz, Iraq vet and 9/11 First Responder.

Iowa Troop Pantry Service Project

“Letters from Home”

One of the most common requests from our deployed troops is to hear from Americans “back home.” You can help make a soldier’s life a little brighter by writing a letter—this is also a great activity for youth to take part in!


In honor of Veterans Day, there will be drop-boxes for letters from

November 7th-14th at the following locations:

~Washington High School, main office

~Washington Chamber of Commerce, 205 West Main Street

~Fareway, 301 N. Marion Ave


In addition, we will also provide a drop-box at the NYSTY screening along with letter-writing materials to create a letter on site. We welcome participation by schools, church groups, civic groups, workplaces or other groups and can arrange to pick up your letters if needed (contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
