What a great surprise! With a last minute switch-up in the Iowa Girls Coaching Association (IGCA) line up; Sydney, from Washington High School, received a call on Friday night asking if she would prefer to play with the 3A Elite Team vs. the 4A Elite Team. (Somebody must not have been able to attend). Sydney was planning on playing for the 3A Gray Squad in Saturday’s matchup vs. the 3A White Squad in the IGCA All-Star Game. With this change she was able to play in the 3A Elite Team vs. the 4A Elite Team game. As it turned out, Syd lead the 3A Team in scoring 16 points and was named MVP of the 3A Team. Congratulations, Syndey! The head coach of the Washington Girls Basketball team is Phil Long.
