Are you living with an inventor? You might be now! Camp Invention was held June 6-10 at Lincoln Elementary for 77 students entering 1st - 6th grades. The all day camp featured various activities designed to promote creativity and problem solving. In Edison's Workshop, the students took apart non-working DVD/VCR players, radios, etc. and used the parts to make new creations. In Sludge City, students were challenged to create a working water filter and design an eco-friendly town. Imagination Point studied the science behind roller coasters and other amusement park rides. Students also crash-landed on the alien planet, Planet Zak, and had to design protective clothing and shelters. Fourteen high school students earned silver cord hours by working as counselors at the camp and were vital to its success. What a fun week for everyone involved!
