Lincoln: Water Bottle Artwork PDF Print E-mail

In an effort to help students understand the importance of recycling, used water bottles were turned into a beautiful art display. Last year, the 5th grade students at Lincoln Elementary creatively decorated used water bottles. All the decorated water bottles were hung as a grouping from the Lincoln staircase ceiling. We are lucky to still enjoy this in our staircase today. Pictured here are a few views of the beautiful water bottle art on display. We believe you'll be interested in a few water bottle statistics (taken from "Drop The Prop, International Bottled Water Association). Average number of plastic bottles used per person annually in the U.S.=167. Annual spending on bottled water in the U.S. = 11.8 billion. Total number of bottles sold annually= $30 billion. Average cost of one bottle of water= $1.45. (Bottled water is drinking water.) Thank you to all the students that helped make this piece of art possible. It is absolutely stunning!
