The Washington High School Business Professionals of America chapter attended the State Leadership Conference in Des Moines on February 23 – 25, 2014. At this conference, students competed in business skills competitions in many areas and attended general sessions. Students also attended a dance and a hypnotist to meet BPA members from other chapters. The 2014-2015 Iowa BPA Officer team was elected, and Washington student, Macy Marek, was elected the Iowa BPA President. Nine Washington students qualified to compete in their events at the National Leadership Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana (April 30 – May 4, 2014). Many others placed in the top ten and medaled but will not be moving on to Nationals. Katy Wellington and Maddie Kleese will be representing Iowa BPA as State officers as they finish up their terms as 2013-2014 state officers at the National Leadership Conference. The chapter is proud of another successful year of Business Professionals of America.
