Garrison Carter, former Head Football Coach and At Risk Teacher at Ogden, has accepted the positions as Lincoln Behavioral Interventionist, Head Football Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coach in the winter and spring. Mr. Carter has a Physical Education teaching endorsement and has completed his administrative degree.

Garrison has been the Head Coach of Ogden for the last two seasons. He took over a program that had gone over a decade without posting a winning record and had not reached the play-offs since 2001. In his first season, the Bulldogs went 7-5 and made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. In 2013, they went 10-2 and reached the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. Garrison’s coaching career began at Seymour right out of college. He took over a program that had been 0-27 the previous three seasons. He led the team to a 4-5 record his first year. He also spent time as the Wide Receiver Coach at Dordt College prior to accepting his position at Ogden. He was a two year letter winner at Wide Receiver at Simpson College and originally graduated from Centerville High School.

“We were wanting to hire an individual who understood the responsibility to be an educator first and a great football coach second,” said Superintendent Dr. Mike Jorgensen. “We have found that with Garrison.” “He is an excellent fit from the standpoint that he is not looking to come in and make a lot of changes to what has already been successful.” “He has demonstrated a willingness to effectively use the veteran assistant coaching staff that will be with him.” “We think it will be a very good fit for the district..”

Coach Carter will be meeting with the football team next week .
