Members from all four building parent organizations came together during Homecoming week to prepare a float for the parade. Students, staff, and administration want to thank these organizations for their contributions toward our district.

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) promotes, directs, protects and regulates amateur interscholastic athletic relationship for junior high and secondary girls between member schools to stimulate fair play, friendly rivalry and good sportsmanship among contestants, schools and communities throughout the State of Iowa. It is the only organization in the nation solely devoted to interscholastic competition for girls. Over 70,000 students participate in IGHSAU sponsored sports.  We are proud that Dr. Mike Jorgensen has been named one of the IGHSAU Representative Council Members representing the Southeast District!

Lens Crafters (Coralridge Mall) is giving free eye exams and glasses on October 14 to students that qualify.  To see if you qualify, call 319-354-4175 to set up an exam--- be sure to say you want an appointment for the "One Sight Day" and tell them which school you are from.  Space is limited.

School spirit was rampant at WJHS during Homecoming Week!  Each day during Spirit week teachers nominated students who had the best costumes.  Student Council held a drawing and awarded prizes donated by local businesses.  Photos show the winners from Decade Day and Twin Day.
